Our client, a well-established Chartered Accountancy practice and fiduciary services provider based in Douglas, Isle of Man, is seeking an ambitious Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) Trainee Accountant to join their growing team. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in accountancy, trust, and company administration while studying for the CAT qualification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Trust and Company Administration: Handle all aspects of administration, including direct client contact and liaising with third parties such as banks and brokers.
- Accountancy: Perform bookkeeping, prepare accounting schedules, financial statements, investment schedules, and management reports for clients.
- Taxation: Prepare personal and corporate tax computations and returns, as well as VAT returns.
- General Duties: Manage filing, prepare meeting packs, assist managers and partners, and provide cover for staff when needed.
- Payroll: Prepare wage slips and year-end employer returns.
- Compliance: Support managers with compliance requirements and set up payments.
Requirements:
- Ambitious and determined to complete the challenging CAT qualification.
- An A-level or strong GCSE school leaver; prior office experience is an advantage.
- Diligent, hardworking, and eager to learn.
- Strong communication and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Discreet, diplomatic, and confident in approach.
